Finding Frankie is a parkour-based mascot horror game developed by SuperLou Games, released on October 25th, 2024.
Plot[]
The Player is one of four people to find a tape within Frankie's Fruit Flakes cereal that invites them onto a game show within a famous trampoline park, Frankie's Parkour Palace. The contestants must complete difficult parkour platforming while avoiding the place's violent mascots. Contestants will be periodically eliminated, likely fatally.
Gameplay[]
Finding Frankie is a horror game with parkour elements, featuring moves like wall jumping and bar swinging to get around. The Player is also assisted by Deputy Duck, one of the few friendly mascots, who can flash lights and scan a radar.
- Fight for your life as you compete against two other contestants in Frankie’s twisted parkour game show. Run, jump, swing and slide your way throughout parkour and obstacle courses while avoiding Frankie, Henry Hotline and many other terrifying enemies.
- Experience a variety of parkour mechanics, including bar swinging, wall jumping, rail grinding, trampoline hopping, and more.
- During moments when you're not engaged in swinging or wall jumping, you'll have the companionship of a versatile friend on your journey—Deputy Duck!
Deputy Duck proves to be a jack of all trades, from emitting flashing lights and scanning radar to exuding absolute adorableness.
- Embark on an exploration of the expansive Frankie's Parkour Palace, ranging from indoor trampoline parks to intricate obstacle courses. Navigate through tighter spaces such as ventilation shafts and the dark, labyrinth tunnels that snake beneath the building.
Trivia[]
- The game has 3 trailers.
- The game has been in development since September of 2022.[1]
- It is not chapter-based, instead being a short 1-2 hour standalone experience.[2][3]
- However, if the game gets enough attention, the developers have stated there is possibility of sequels. They would also consider having those sequels be multiplayer, in which each contestant is a different player.
- It was originally going to cost somewhere between $4.99 and $9.99.[4] The developers ultimately decided on a price of $14.99 due to the amount of content.[5]
- There are two main developers, two outsourced artists, and one voice actor who plays the roles of both Frankie and Henry.[6]
- Despite the use of royalty-free music[7] in the second trailer, it was confirmed multiple times before release that the game would have an original soundtrack.[8][9]
- Finding Frankie was going to initially be, quoted from the developers, a "DHMIS Pokemon Snap Where's Waldo game". This has been redone since, with only the base layout of the main lobby remaining from its initial concept.[10]
- There are several characters that didn't make the cut for the game; A few examples of these scrapped mascots are an unnamed clock, apple, and Etch-A-Sketch mascot.[11]
- The game has been compared to other videogames, such as Fall Guys or Poppy Playtime. The former was presumably referenced in the beginning of the Release Trailer.
